Hey! I'm doing a very quick update for my blog in midst of a very busy schedule. March has not been that good to me and I hope April will be better. Tomorrow's gonna be a special day for my friend... and so I will again get myself predictable by giving away a draw. lol... anyway I hope she'll like this one.

It's pretty amazing how I was able to juggle a lot of things in my life including this blog. Dadedidoodles is almost 1 year old! :D I'm thankful enough for the inspiration from whatever thoughts and things I happen to stumble in my normal life.

I was asked by my Aunt to draw her Facebook profile pic so I could bring it to her during our visit. Hope she'll gonna like it. I thought of posting it here too since I had no more time to make an anniversary draw. :(

Deep inside, I really want to put more time in drawing. If I could only squeeze a little more minutes a day but I got a lot to do in more than 12hrs of my waking life. One thing's for sure, I will keep this blog alive. It's one of the those things that keep me happy. Till next time!

I can't get over with my previous doodle so I tried to complete and see how it would look.

Yo! It's a New Year! :) Have to do something to keep this blog alive. hehe I just survived the busiest December in my life. So without much chit chats, here's what I got in my mind so far.

I've been thinking of Katy Perry and how can I draw her. This is what I came up after scouring some of her photos online. Yeah, it's a complete fail coz it doesnt look like her. :( Oh well, I think I'll do something about it next time to at least make it as close as Katy. Obviously, I'm a Katy fan. haha This lady has the looks and the talent and beautiful pair of eyes. grrrr! Enough to inspire a simple dude like me.lol! till next time!

December and it's one of the best months of the year! yeah! Ok, that line has nothing to do about my post today. I just have this urge of bellowing what I have in mind while typing this post. haha I was scanning my old and often neglected DA account and I was a bit envious of my old self doing colored stuff. grrr! I just didn't have the energy and time! *sob So here's one of my unfinished stuff back in 2009.

That's Katara and I'm a big fan of Avatar: The Last Airbender animated series. Really hope to do more drawing this month. brb

Been thinking the same thing these days and it's about this game. I'm not sure why, maybe just I miss playing it. Although I'm too busy, I have to do something about this thought. So here's a new doodle. I made it as fast as I could but I'm sure I'm gonna fine tune it in coming days. Stopped playing this since I got my wrist problem. I also miss the dudes, the shouting, the burning of my eyes, killing and being killed over and over again! LOL Cheers to the DOTA Folks!

Knowing my scribbling level, I think I wont be able to make a new one before the month ends so I guess this is my last post this October. I feel a dark fantasy look in this draw so I think I could also say this is my halloween doodle. ^^

Time flies so fast! My weekend is gone in a blink of an eye. :| Had fun spending it though and it's a bit fulfilling since I did my planned homework. Yeah, I tasked myself to work on my digital painting. I would want to finish this as soon as I can. This is a piece from my Versus post.

It's a work in progress. I wanted to be back at my normal posting pace gradually so I'm spending a few minutes a day for drawing. Hope to finish her this week! brb :)

Gratitude Corner

I was planning on making more doodles tonight but due to some urgent matters, I didn't have time. Joggling work, health, personal life and passion is sometimes complicated. *sigh Good thing I was able to scan some of my recent draws and I got one here with great significance.

This is an unfinished portrait of my friends in their pre-nuptial which I made days before their wedding. I was actually planning on giving this as wedding gift but I didn't have a time to finish. No more time to get it printed, framed and all. Pretty lousy me! lol! Someday maybe I could go back and get this done for them.

We're blessed to have people in our lifetime whom we can share our own unique existence. :) This is my way of sharing my gratitude.

uhu uhu uhu! Looking dusty all around this place, eh? I got no lame excuse for being dormant these months so I admit, I've been slacking! waaaa! :( I don't know but I just felt less motivated to do some doodles and even scribbles all this time! *sigh So what happened and why I'm back? Because I hear this tiny little voice inside me telling me to at least do a scribble or it's going to gnaw me piece by piece. The chicken in me didn't waste time grabbing my digi-pen and started scribbling.

So here's a little preview of what I have so far. I really hope I will finish this piece. It's supposed to be a fan art of one of the best books today. :) It also describe my current situation, Passion versus Laziness. Who's gonna win?!?! I really hope to finish this...soon

Sudden Thought

I was travelling home tonight when I was hit by this thought of half-veggie and half-chic deity. lol! It keeps on repeating in my brain even I was eating my dinner. So to appease my thought, I made a digital doodle as fast as I could.

This week I was asked by my friend to do a poster design for her organization. I suddenly thought of making a doodle that I could use both the poster and my blog. Like the old cliche, hitting two birds with one stone. It also feels good for someone to give me this kind of opportunity... suddenly, I have a little use in this world! haha

So about the doodle, it's for the workshop that the organization will be doing. Arts, music and more! Nice, eh? :D It's good to have a friend having this cause oriented organization. "Singgit Sirkulo sang Pamtan-on" can be literally translated to"Shout Circle of the Youth" and that's what the oranization is called. That's what the heading says in our native language. "Damgo" will be "Dream". With this, she makes life easier to breathe in and she writes outstanding poems too! To complete my promote-a-friend-act, I'm giving away her blog. Monday! I feel things were so fast. It was like Friday yesterday and then suddenly it's another week to deal with. ugh! I was a bit bored at the moment so I had to resort to doodling. It's roughly a 20min draw or should I say scribble by the way it looks. :P

Influenced by one of my past time, dragon watching. Not that I watch real dragons, which I really wish I could hehe, but looking at the illustrations of my idols at deviant art. I guess it's time for me to add something for my blog today. This time I had finished one of my scribbles from Unfinished Business. This took long enough since I spent days of changing and fixing some details until I'm contented. Posted this also in my deviant gallery. It's Tyrael from Blizzard's Diablo game.

Tyrael is the Archangel of Justice. He's part of the Angiris Council of the High Heavens fighting against the three Prime Evils (Mephisto, Baal and Diablo) and their minions from Burning Hells. Because the memories of humankind were wiped, none of them know his real face (I know you we're wondering why he had no face in my draw. lol!). He's sympathetic to the human race, the reason why he directly helps them, especially the hero (player), defeat the prime evils and banish them from the mortal realm. By doing this, he disobeyed the council's orders to not to interfere in mortal affairs. At the end of Diablo II, he destroyed the corrupted Worldstone (the cloak of the world that hides its location from both angels and demons). It was unknown what happened to him after he did it. Kid Stuff

Of all places I would want to go back to, it would definitely be Home. :) Full of cherished memories.. A thing came back to me when I saw a dragonfly while I was attending a Holy Mass at the chapel just this weekend. I suddenly thought of doodling something that could bring me back to my early years.

There you go! hehe Before, I would spend my time catching those cute insects by their tail. I remember sweating, drooling and even holding my breath just to make that stealthy deed. They were hard to catch, really! lol! Nice thought to recall.

Hey, it's been a while! So before everything turns completely dusty in here, here's a new doodle. :)

Never been in my whole life to have friends who we're totally passionate fans. It's always a SS501 domination whenever they're at the apartment. They would bring DVDs and watch concert videos. I always catch myself shooting questions of almost uniform-looking band members just to identify them. LOL! *peace!* And that's just 1% of the things they do for their idol. You should see their glittering eyes. This is a little tribute to them. No better way of appreciating their passion than to draw their idol.

Yeah, that's Kim Hyun Joong (Leader) of SS501. Hope this could brighten their day. I really pray I was able to do justice in this digital draw. *Feeling a little pressure in here.* haha Kate and Dara, keep those passion burning. Just like how I like drawing, there are no bleak moments doing the thing you like most.

A quick thought came to me about a girl and a balloon. At the same time I was thinking of stirring up somebody's day. I was quick to visit my facebook to look for a potential victim. *har har* For some unknown reason, my eyes found the birthday list. Then I thought, why do something more interesting. So I chose a friend who has a nearest birthday date and made this present. hehe Lucky me, it's a birthday girl so the-girl-with-a-balloon-thought is in! Hope she would like this present! :)

OST while doing the scribbling: Black Balloon by Goo Goo Dolls... dunno if it fits but this song is really HIT to me!

So there it is, instead of startling somebody, I ended up wrapping a birthday gift. LOL! My evil self failed again. tch!

I'm back! hehe I was sick for days and I was advised to take some rest. I'm fine now so for today's draw, the last waterbender. :)

I don't know but I have been thinking of waterbenders for days now. lol I called her the last waterbender since she was the-last-man-standing during the Fire Nation invasion of the Southern Water Tribe. I think Hama was one gifted waterbender. Being able to invent her own technique. Not just a technique but I think the ultimate waterbender could possibly do, Blood Bending. So that's the younger Hama. :) I love AVATAR! haha

ps. I'll take things slowly now. Until things less busy, I'll be posting at least once a week. But I'm spending a little time in my draws. hehe

So it's a start of the week! Just watched the Clash of the Titans with friends. Greek myth but I was a bit confused of the naming of some of the characters and their fates portrayed in the movie compared to what I've read from the myth books. No big deal though, I think it's freedom of the makers to express what they thought best.

I was actually making an excuse why my Medusa turned out this way. haha yeah I think it's really the freedom of expression. Not seen her face to face so I got here the rear view. And no more plans to see her eye to eye. It's 'hard' to explain. See ya!

Sacrifice

We're celebrating a season of sacrifice. I thought I would do something relevant so I got here one of the many traditions we have in my country. Some people, usually male, go out on streets covering their head and lashing their backs. These devotees do this while praying. They believe their sins would be forgiven by doing this.

It may appear a bit weird but it's the way they express their Faith. Sacrifice may be done in different ways but still it means only one thing. Love. It is after all the reason why Christ died for us all. Have a peaceful Lent.

Let's break some rules! hehe I originally intended to post only black and white artworks here. Just thought I would ruin the essence (bah! essence haha!) of this feature when I do it in BW. I can't draw clouds so I looked for a tut online and came up with this one. :)

The sky during sunset or late afternoon is a heart warming scene to watch. My fave part of the day! The sinking sun leaves fantastic color scheme in the atmosphere. It's always a happy ending of the day for me.

I made it to the end of the week! (who cares! LOL) Anyway, for the love of my little country, I tried to draw something.

Fon Eel, is a water spirit of the Bilaan Tribe. Though my country has been under several foreign influences all this time, I'm glad some things remained. Something that speaks about my culture. Even if my drawing style is not local, I thank my influences because it's the key to some of my patriotic deeds. hehe

I like mythology and I think I'm going to do more digital draw about it. ^.^

Been an anime fan eversince. It's an art & entertainment in one. Plus, you got those inspiring principles from the characters. Naruto has this impact to people about their goals and determination. It reminded me of giving up drawing over those serious and stressful stuff I was doing. I felt like I betrayed it. So I went back to it and glad it's still there! ^.^ It's like being forgiven by your girl you let down before. haha Now, I think I wont give up on it! Sage Mode!

There are things that we dream of, those things that if possible, we could do it. We even tend to bend ourselves to achieve it. But those were just dreams and a lot of them remain in the fantasy world, they say. I wanted to be a musician, create my songs, sing them and at least hear a couple of those clapping sounds. haha

When I hear a song I have this tendency to replay it the whole day. It's just like I got my mind playlist turned into replay mode. So my daily digital draw was inspired by the song we heard from the restaurant last Saturday while we're waiting for our dinner to be serve.

I'm proud I was born during 80's. I like the taste of rock music of those days especially those chics whose got those husky vocals. It reminds me of my aunts' bushy hair and thick face decos. haha Rock the Monday everyone!

Today was blessed! I never missed the rain this much and thank you Lord for it. =) Air is lighter and plants were happier. Fitting for the thought I have for today's draw. Nature at its 'muchness' (haha Mad Hatter!). I always have this thought of sitting at the pedestal in the middle of a jungle while watching the sun rise.

Yea, we can see it in a lot of movies and they always look epic! Happy thought!

When I heard the 8.8 magnitude earthquake, I suddenly thought of one thing. Tsunami. I asked myself ---> How would I feel if I see that wave coming right at me? I would think that It's something big and bad and there's nothing I can do to stop it. tsk tsk

It's weekend and I'm still awake this late! hehe

The moon is beautiful this evening at this side of the world. A thought came to me while watching it as I head to the apartment ---> "What will come up when I try to draw the moon?"

Well, I think my brain likes a cloudy full moon. haha

Hey there!

I was wondering If I can maintain a blog by posting some random thoughts put into visuals. hehe I was really inspired to do this by an article I read yesterday. It actually said 15-20min/day but I figured I can't do it since I'm still a newbie... lol I made this digital drawing for about 1.5hrs tsk tsk btw smashingmagazine is an Awesomeness site!
